Permatank™

Permatank™ is a double wall tank that meets or exceeds all federal and state requirements for design, corrosion protection and product compatibility. Permatank™ is fabricated under Kennedy Tank's and the Steel Tank Institute's stringent quality control programs. The technology is U.L. 1746 approved.

The Permatank™ manufacturing start with a strong UL-58 steel tank that is wrapped with a polyethylene stand-off material and mylar sheeting around the outside of the tank. It is then coated with a laminate mylar sheeting with fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) that employs 120 layers of approved resins and fibers. A protective base padding is then applied and a vacuum integrity tester is installed and a vacuum is pulled on the intersticial space.

The polyethylene stand-off material and mylar sheeting in combination with the FRP laminate creates a strong outer wall with a well-defined interstitial space. The external FRP laminate performs the dual role of corrosion protection and secondary containment to make Permatank™ light-weight, reliable and extraordinarily practical. The patented design was developed with installation simplicity in mind.

Permatank™ is shipped with vacuum applied in the interstice, the space between the inner and outer tank walls. The vacuum integrity tester monitors the effectiveness of the tank. Visual inspection of the vacuum integrity tester assures the tank owner and installer of tank integrity after transportation and throughout installation.
