STI-P3™ Tanks

This underground tank through the years has been the standard of the industry. All STI-P3™ tanks are available in single-wall or double-wall models and carry a 30-year limited warranty.  This tank can be easily compartmentalized to meet a number of needs.

It is protected by the STI-P3™ Corrosion Protection System which combines three proven methods of protection:

• Protective coating - sandblasting the tank to required standards and an application of a special polyurethane coating to the required thickness;
• Electrical isolation of the tank as a result of nylon isolation bushings installed in all the tank fittings;
• Cathodic protection consisting of zinc or magnesium sacrificial anodes to protect the steel structure.

Compatible with Alternative Fuels

PROTECTED STEEL TANKS are the tanks for the future as the push for alternative fuels becomes stronger. A leading corrosion engineering firm recently performed compatibility tests with steel and a variety of alternative fuels. Results found that anticipated methanol fuel blends produced no measurable corrosion on steel.  Other studies have found compatibility problems with methanol blends and fiberglass standard resins. These intensive studies provide further corroboration that carbon steel continues to be the tank material of choice for fuels of the future.

Compartmented Tanks - Reduce Overhead Underground

Replacing multiple tanks with one PROTECTED STEEL COMPARTMENTAL TANK means reduced overhead underground.  The Protected Steel Tanks can be easily compartmentalized so that you can store more than one type of product in a single tank. Replacing several tanks with just one compartmentalized tank reduces your installation costs and at the same time, possible reduces insurance premiums by decreasing your total number of underground tanks. Compartmentalized protected steel tanks are available in single- and double-wall construction.
