A few words about the large life of Pat Kennedy.

 1956 – 2020

Patrick Kennedy became the fourth generation Kennedy to pilot Kennedy Tank in 1993. He’d been with the company since 1978, learning the family business inside and out. But far more importantly, growing in his sense of what it meant to be a father, leader and champion of the pursuits he had a natural passion for.

In 2020, our family, company and community lost Pat to COVID-19 at the young age of 63, but he is still very much with us every single day.

While we as a company have a family legacy stretching back well over a century, the Kennedy Tank of today is very much the work of Patrick Kennedy. Under his tenure, we grew significantly in our capabilites to produce and service diverse products, in our capacity to fabricate and erect increasingly larger equipment, and as a culture that emphasizes the strength of a team where every single individual is cared for.

And then there’s racing. As in THE race. The Indianapolis 500. From an early age, Pat was an enthusiast and presence at the famous track during the month of May. Over the years, he sat on race-related boards, befriended drivers, steered our historic Kennedy Tank Special car around the brickyard at top speed as often as possible, and even authored two books on Indy 500 history.

The kennedy tank of
today is very much the
work of patrick Kennedy.

A company or family is certainly bigger than one man; but today, we’re very much guided by—and proud of—Patrick Kennedy’s business acumen, generous spirit and sense of adventure.
