While created for aboveground oil storage, The American Petroleum Institute (API) 650 standard is also commonly applied to gasoline, chemical and water storage as well. By allowing an internal pressure up to +2.5 PSIG, these tanks offer more flexibility in the field, not to mention higher standards for all. Meeting the code.
It’s a requirement. API 650 tanks must be welded by fabricators who are qualified to meet ASME code. Kennedy Tank has a roster of these specialty craftsmen at the ready.
