Safety Projects.

True safety isn’t about “good enough.”

It’s about continuous improvement and keeping a constant focus on health, well-being and security. Over the past several years, Kennedy Tank has made a concerted effort to transform safety from something that’s talked about to something that’s demonstrated. Check out these unique events and special projects that showcase our high level of ongoing commitment.

Field safety days

Annually, Kennedy Tank shuts down our field operations and brings the team back home. While these events are a must-attend, they’re designed to connect and engage beyond what might be expected in typical corporate training sessions. Presentations include topics that have been suggested by the field. As such, safety training remains tied to what matters to our people as we prep them for real-life scenarios.

Fall protection ingenuity

Safety is everyone’s business at Kennedy Tank, and here’s a perfect example. Our team identified a desire to provide a greater level of fall protection while working at elevated heights in our facility. After a review of several available commercial devices failed to meet our requirements, we got advice from an engineer and made one ourselves. It was a true collaborative effort showing a commitment to safety from all departments.

Confined space safety training

Confined spaces are challenging. Even more so when it comes to safety. Kennedy Tank decided to get real with it. Designed through input from management and field team members, we constructed our own human-scale, multifunction training simulator. With it, we can run drills on confined space entry and rescue, scaffolding safety and more.

Live wire training

Our approach to safety is broad, incorporating skills that can be applied both in the work environment and out. In a partnership with our local electric utility provider, we hosted 60+ ASME-certified welders to conduct live wire safety training.
