quality control.
Quality control is often discussed in terms of processes and procedures. At Kennedy Tank, however, we know what really makes the ultimate difference: people.
Training our fabricators is where it starts. Every new employee participates in a structured group class, as well as one-on-one training with our Quality Department. Training continues with monthly sessions for all fabricators covering topics from blueprint reading to welding techniques.
Experience counts.
The Kennedy Tank Quality Department includes five team members with qualifications vital to their role. Each worked as a fabricator and journeyman welder, and on average, has over 20 years of experience. Additionally, we have in-house Certified Welding Inspectors, Radiographic Inspectors and an NACE Level 2 Inspector.
Integration is crucial.
Our Quality Department is active throughout multiple phases of the operation. For example, they oversee receiving to ensure all materials meet applicable codes and customer specifications. They’re closely involved in the fabrication process as well, from the rolling of the first shell ring to the final coat of paint. Every step of fabrication is signed off and verified by a quality inspector and logged in our job tracking system. Further, they meet monthly with our executive team to review issues and discuss improvement.
Quality control requires comprehensive capabilities.
Kennedy Tank experts maintain high standards by using a full range of tests, inspections and checks.
